Fortaco Oy (“Fortaco”) has today signed an agreement to divest its Kurikka machining site to Komas Oy (“Komas”). The site provides machining services as serial production, mainly for the agriculture, forest, energy and industrial machinery industries. The site employs 36 people.

“Our strategy is based on our mission to create value add for our customers by reshaping the way things are produced. We want to be the desired partner for our customers, mainly within the heavy equipment industry. The divestment of the Kurikka Machining site is aligned with our strategy”, says Lars Hellberg, President & CEO. “The Kurikka Machining site focuses on the machining services of smaller components as serial production and therefore fits very well in Komas’ portfolio, while Fortaco has a focus on medium-sized components” Hellberg continues.

The transaction is expected to be closed latest on 30 April 2015, whereafter all assets and employees of the Kurikka Machining site will be transferred to Komas. Financial details of the transaction are not disclosed.
