Fortaco’s Board of Directors has today appointed Mr. Jure Mikolčić (M.Sc. Economics), b. 1974, as Fortaco’s President & CEO. Mr. Mikolčić will start in his role by 1 August 2026 at the latest. Fortaco’s current President & CEO, Mika Mahlberg, will continue in this role until Mr. Mikolčić joins Fortaco to ensure a smooth transition.

Mr. Mikolčić is an experienced business leader with extensive experience across different engineering industries. He has a proven track record in leading organisations through growth and transformation phases based on corporate culture development and innovations. Mr. Mikolčić also has a strong background in international expansion and sales.

Since 2019, Mr. Mikolčić has worked as Executive Vice President, Division Germany (Berlin), and as a member of the Group Executive Board at Stadler Rail AG, one of the leading companies worldwide in the rail vehicle sector. Before joining Stadler, Mr. Mikolčić worked at Knorr-Bremse AG from 2015–2019 as Managing Director of Knorr-Bremse Powertech and as Vice President, Sales/Strategy, of Knorr-Bremse Auxiliary Power Supply. Prior to Knorr-Bremse, Mr. Mikolčić worked for 14 years at Siemens, holding several management positions. Mr. Mikolčić is a German citizen.

“On behalf of the entire Supervisory Board, I want to warmly thank Mika for executing our profitability improvement programme and for successfully navigating Fortaco in a difficult market environment. We are happy to see that these efforts are now bearing fruit and laying the foundation for Fortaco’s future development,” says Markus Sjöholm, Chairman of Fortaco’s Supervisory Board.

“We are equally pleased to welcome Mr. Jure Mikolčić to Fortaco as President & CEO. His extensive experience and track record in engineering-driven businesses are an excellent fit for Fortaco. I am confident that his knowledge will help us seize opportunities as a top strategic partner within the global off-highway market, to the benefit of our customers, employees and other stakeholders,” Sjöholm concludes.
